Like how you are developing the bird image. Your rail castle images are stunning - how did you do that 'feathered' effect in black and white?? I too love being a grandmother - but isnt it expensive????
The feathered effect is the hind end of a fancy chicken photo that I am still in the process of reworking with graphite and ink.
My graphic novel work is inspired by the work of Jack Kirby the comic book artist that created the visual look of the modern super hero. In the 1970s he did some collage work in comic books. My graphic novels are 80% collage with over-paint. The images you are seeing of The Rail Castle are half finished. Before I post a collage of photos 10 points must be changed on each photo I use and before I hard print , 100 points must be changed on each photo I use.
I haven't got to the point where my grandchildren are expensive but I know that day is coming.
Star Birds will show the process I go through to finish one page of art for a graphic novel.
Thanks for all that info Robert. It seems a long process but well worth while with all your own artistic input to the collages/ photos. My grandchildren are 16, 10 and 8 (all girls here in Norfolk) plus two little boys living in Luxembourg. See what I mean???
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Your comments really keep me pushing on. Today I'm painting flowers with oil paints and your blog is the reason I'm doing that. I promise to post photos of the process. I'm entering a more realistic phase of my artwork and leaving the abstract world behind.
